FOLLOWUP: Sweep crews at Longfellow Creek encampment, two days after mayor’s announcement of new homelessness strategy
City crews and contractors have finished clearing the Longfellow Creek greenspace, where campers were warned to remove belongings by 9 am today. The sweep occurred two days after the mayor announced a new homelessness strategy, which has been used in at least two previous West Seattle sweeps. The strategy involves working intensively with people living outside to get them into housing or shelter. A new site, Cloverleaf Village, is set to open in South Park.
