Terms for Advertisers

You pay in advance: from $20 to $500 at a time, by card through Stripe, or by check (a check can take 10 business days or longer to reach your balance). Your credit never expires.
Close your account any time and you get back every unspent cent, to the card you paid with. I pay the card fees, not you. Refunds usually reach your card in 5 to 10 business days.
Paid by check? A check can't be refunded to a card, so when you close your account I mail you a check for the unspent part of what you paid by check.
Sign up and make a payment before the end of 2026 (New York time) and that payment comes with $10.00 of ad credit, once per account. It pays for views like the rest of your balance, but no card paid for it, so it can't be refunded.

Each view of your ad costs that day's price per 1,000 views. Your account page shows today's price and tomorrow's, so you always know a day ahead.
Prices change only at midnight, Los Angeles time. Pause your ad any time and it stops costing anything.

A view is counted when a reader's browser actually shows your ad in the notice box on the site.
I don't charge for search engines and other known bots, for pages a browser fetches ahead of time without showing them, or for the same reader seeing the same ad again within 30 seconds.
Clicks on your ad are free, and I show you how many there were.
You're charged only for impressions counted as described in How I count impressions.

Every ad, and every edit to one, is reviewed before it runs. I may decline an ad, or remove one that is running.
