State Rep. Ross Hunter is Running for King County Executive

The other candidates include three Democrats and one Republican.

Of course party affiliation isn’t supposed to matter anymore because voters approved an initiative last November making the office of King County Executive non-partisan.

Whatever, Hunter’s Democratic challengers are: County Council Chair Dow Constantine, County Councilmember Larry Phillips and State Sen. Fred Jarrett, D-Mercer Island. The lone Republican running is former KIRO TV news anchor Susan Hutchison.

If you’d like to get to know the candidates a bit more, the King County Democrats Central Committee is sponsoring the King County Executive Candidate Forum on May 5. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Renton Carpenters Hall (231 Burnett Ave. N., Renton, 98057).
