Investigators believe a band was playing at the club when an argument erupted and gunfire rang out in the crowd, police spokesman Jeff Kappel said.

Officers rushed to the club after receiving 911 calls at 12:27 a.m. and found the three injured men, Kappel said.

Seattle fire medics took one man to Harborview Medical Center where he died later, he said. That man was in his 20s.

A second man suffered life-threatening injuries and a third man has non life-threatening wounds, Kappel reported Sunday morning. These men are in their 20s.

While two of the three men are believed to be club patrons, the third one might be an entertainer, Kappel said.

Officers caught two possible suspects and detectives interviewed them on Sunday. One was released and is considered a witness.

The other, a 25-year-old man, is in the process of being booked into King County Jail on suspicion of felony assault. One suspect, a man, remains at large, Kappel added.

Police do not know whether any of the injured men was targeted, he said.

Investigators from the department's homicide, crime scene and gang units also responded to the club.

Two people who work in the area said their coworker was working at a nearby pub early Sunday and told them about the shooting. But that coworker did not see it, they said.

Chop Suey's online calendar shows that patrons had gathered Saturday night to see YOUNG SOPRANO, Fatal Lucciauno, No Clue, Dividenz and Anonimous.
