Since opening in 1991, the Crocodile has played host to some of the biggest names in music, such as, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, the Beastie Boys and R.E.M., but Thursday and Friday night the bands will be local and there's no cover charge.

"We need to break in the room, and see how it sounds," said managing owner Marcus Charles. "What a better way to do it than with some great local bands in an open house setting?"

The club's new sound system, lighting rig and Via Tribunali dining room will be run through its paces by Hypatia Lake, The Kindness Kind and The Quiet Ones on Thursday. On Friday look for Akimbo, Brothers of the Sonic Cloth and Patrol. Doors open at 8:30 on Thursday and 8:00 on Friday.
