Superintendent Goodloe-Johnson Terminates 3,300 Schoolteacher Contracts

What’s under dispute is one day. All of the teachers who received the letter today had what are known as continuing contracts. The old contracts were for 180 days plus two Learning Improvement Days. The new contracts Goodloe-Johnson offered them are for 180 days, but with only one Learning Improvement Day.

“This is a dispute over one day,” Addae said. “Maybe this kind of disrespectful bully tactic worked back in South Carolina, but Seattle’s students and teachers deserve better.”
